Romola leads 1939 | 31 Oct 2008
Romola is set for another role where she seems to be leading one of the most epic casts I've seen for a movie.

Principal photography begins on Monday (3 November) on BAFTA-nominated Stephen Poliakoff's (Capturing Mary, Joe's Palace, Gideon's Daughter, The Lost Prince) Second World War thriller 1939.

The feature film will shoot on location in Norfolk and London for six-and-a-half weeks and is a talkbackTHAMES production in association with Magic Light Pictures, funded by BBC Films, the UK Film Council and Screen East.

Award-winning British actress Romola Garai (Atonement) takes the lead as Anne, alongside BAFTA-winning actor Bill Nighy (Notes On A Scandal, Love Actually), who plays her father Alexander.

They are joined by Oscar-winning actress Julie Christie (Away From Her, Finding Neverland) who plays the formidable Aunt Elizabeth, Eddie Redmayne (The Other Boleyn Girl) as Anne's brother Ralph and Juno Temple (Wild Child) as their younger sister Celia.

David Tennant (Doctor Who) plays family friend Hector, Charlie Cox (Stardust) stars as Anne's lover Lawrence, Jeremy Northam (Gosford Park) as the shady government operative Balcombe and the legendary Christopher Lee (Lord Of The Rings, Golden Compass) as Walter.

Wow is all I can say, hopefully this'll be the film that will finally launch Romola in the scene.

'The Other Man' Premiere | 19 Oct 2008
Romola recently attended the premiere for The Other Man at the BFI London Film Festival. It's been a long while since we've seen her on the red carpet so it's nice to see her again. :) I've added a couple of pictures to the gallery, hopefully more coming soon!

Romola Interviews | 22 Aug 2008
Angel is soon to be released in the Uk, and so Romola has been doing interviews for the British Press. The Guardian and The Telegraph both have done great interviews with her and also have photos showing that Romola is as gorgeous as ever, and as intelligent. :) Enjoy reading them.

Heya | 20 Aug 2008
I'm Kirsty, and I'm to be the new webmaster over here at Romola Web. I'm so thankful for Sarika for offering it to me as Romola is my favourite actress and there are so many roles that she has played which shows how talented she is. Sarika has done an amazing job with the site and I was always a regular in checking for updates. My first treat for you all is As You Like It Screencaptures. Enjoy!

Co-web wanted | 08 Jun 2008
Hello, everyone. I have being toying with the idea for a while. Is anyone interested in being a co-web for the site? You must, of course, be a huge fan of Romola, know how to update Coppermine and Cutenews (I still have to make the switch to Wordpress), have reasonable grammar/spelling for updating, and so on. Please e-mail me with links to your current websites if you are interested. I tend to get picky, though! Thanks.
